Tabla Solo with Sandip Ghosh and sitarist Kamal Ahmad: Rootstock at Wyldflowr

Sandip Ghosh is a world-renowned tabla artist who has charmed audiences with his charismatic solo performances. He has also accompanied several classical maestros such as Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty, Kaushiki Chakraborty and more recently Pt. Kushal Das as well as many others. He is also a senior disciple of Pt. Anindo Chatterjee, studying under him for over 37 years. Sandip is currently performing and teaching tabla. Recently he has started teaching out of the Bay Area and he will be based out of the Riyaaz Music Shop in Union City.

Kamal Ahmad began his musical journey with the tabla before his elder sister introduced him to the sitar. He trained under sarod maestro Arnab Chakrabarty, who later connected him to his current gurus, sitarist Vinayak Chittar and scholar-vocalist Pt. Arijit Mahalanabis. Despite starting later than most, Kamal's disciplined and analytical approach helped him progress rapidly and become a skilled sitar player. As a teacher, he fosters the same critical mindset in his students, emphasizing continuous refinement and a passion for lifelong learning.
